SEN Teaching Assistant

Staffroom Education are recruiting talented Teaching Assistants who specialise in Special Education Needs (SEN) for a school in Swansea. This role would start in September 2021. We are seeking candidates who demonstrate the skills needed to motivate, enthuse, support and challenge pupils.

Role requirements and necessary skills:

  • A good understanding of Additional Learning Needs;

  • Intervention experience;

  • The ability to support the class teacher and follow planning/timetables;

  • Excellent behaviour strategies;

  • Strong communication skills;

  • The ability to work with groups or pupils or as a one to one basis;

  • Promote positive attitudes towards learning and build strong relationships with staff and pupils;

  • To remain up to date with educational developments and changes whilst undertaking the role;

  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection;

  • A current and clear, fully-enhanced DBS disclosure certificate;

  • Full registration with the Education Workforce Council.
