1:1 Teaching Assistant

Staffroom Education are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant who has experience within Social Care setting or a background supporting individuals as a 1:1 with their personal care, to work within a Primary School in Cardiff. This would be full-time with a September start.

Role Requirements and Necessary Skills:

  • A good understanding of personal care, specifically supporting individuals with Cerebral Palsy and behavioural difficulties

  • At least 3 months of experience working with children in a professional capacity, for example: Volunteering at your local school, church group or community group, sports coaching, mentoring or similar.

  • Qualifications, training or experience in Social Care;

  • The ability to support the class teacher and follow planning/timetables;

  • Strong communication skills;

  • Promote positive attitudes towards learning and build strong relationships with staff and pupils;

  • Remain up to date with educational developments and changes whilst undertaking the role;

  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection;

  • A current and clear, fully-enhanced DBS disclosure certificate;

  • Full registration with the Education Workforce Council.
